This week Three Tuesday chair openings for colour and cut — request one of them here.
A salon chair facing a wide mirror with styling tools arranged on the counter

The studio

Four chairs, one long appointment, no upselling.

We keep the diary deliberately short. Every booking starts dry and in daylight at the mirror, so the plan is agreed before a single section is clipped — and so you leave knowing exactly how to repeat it at home.

  • 01Dry consultation first. We talk through growth patterns, density and the two minutes you are realistically willing to spend styling.
  • 02Colour is mixed per client. Hand-painted work is built to grow out softly, so you choose when to come back rather than being forced to.
  • 03Home plan written down. You go home with the products you need and none of the ones you don't.

Price index

Every service, with the time it honestly takes.

Prices start from the figures below and are confirmed at consultation — length, density and colour history all change the timing. Longer or thicker hair is quoted before we begin, never afterwards.

Your visit

How an appointment at Hazel Lane runs.

So nothing about a first visit is a surprise, here is the order of the day from the moment you sit down.

1

Dry consultation

We look at your hair unwashed and in daylight, talk through what is and isn't working, and agree the plan and the price before anything starts.

2

Wash & prep

A proper cleanse at the basin with a scalp massage, plus any treatment that will help the cut or colour behave later.

3

Cut, colour or both

The work itself, checked against the plan as we go. You'll be shown the shape wet and again once it is dry.

4

Finish & home plan

We finish the way you'd style it yourself, show you the two steps that matter, and note when to come back.

Looks

Recent work from the chairs.

Three finishes from the past few weeks, photographed in the salon under daylight rather than a ring light — so the colour you see is the colour you'd get.

Questions

The things clients ask us most.

Practical answers about patch tests, timing and what to do between visits. Anything else, add it to the notes box when you request an appointment.

Do I need a patch test before colour?

Yes, if it's your first colour with us or your last one here was more than six months ago. It takes two minutes and has to be done at least 48 hours before the appointment, so mention colour on your request and we'll fit the test in beforehand.

How far ahead should I book?

Cuts usually open up one to two weeks out. Colour appointments are longer, so three to four weeks is safer, and Saturdays go first. If you're flexible on days, say so on the form — we fill short-notice gaps from those requests.

Should I wash my hair before I come in?

For colour, day-old hair is ideal — the natural oils protect your scalp. For cutting, come with hair clean, dry and styled as you normally wear it, because that's what we need to see during the consultation. For a smoothing treatment, wash it that morning and skip conditioner.

Can you work with my grey?

Either way. We can blend grey softly with highlights or a gloss so there is no hard regrowth line, or cover it fully with a root retouch every four to six weeks. If you want to stop colouring altogether, we can plan a grow-out over a few visits rather than one dramatic one.

What happens if I'm running late?

Up to ten minutes is usually absorbed. Beyond that we may need to shorten the finish or, for colour, move you to another slot — the chair after yours is already booked. A quick message as soon as you know helps us keep your full service.

How do I change or cancel an appointment?

Reply to your confirmation email at least 48 hours ahead and we'll move it without any fuss. Later than that and we may not be able to refill a long colour slot, so we ask for as much notice as you can manage.

Should I bring inspiration photos?

Please do — two or three, ideally of hair with a similar texture to yours and shot in different light. They tell us far more than a description, and they make it easy to say honestly what we can reach in one visit and what will take two.

Tell us what you need and when you're free.

Send the form and we'll reply by email with the slots that fit, including any patch test you need beforehand. Nothing is charged or confirmed until you reply.

  • We answer requests in the order they arrive, between services.
  • New colour clients are offered a patch test slot in the same reply.
  • If your first choice of day is full, we'll offer the two closest alternatives.

We only use your details to arrange this appointment.
